Analysis of pairwise cell interactions using an integrated dielectrophoretic-microfluidic system
Using an integrated dielectrophoretic-microfluidic device, we investigated guidance effect of secreted collagen IV and soluble VEGF on endothelial cells at the level of single cell and cell pairs. Cell interaction rules extracted from the experiments of cell pairs were used to mathematically predict branching patterns characteristic of developing multi-cellular blood vessels.
